LSM Courses
In Malta, there are currently several ways to learn Maltese Sign Language (LSM):
The Directorate for Lifelong Learning offers Maltese Sign Language Levels 1 and 2 as evening courses at various locations across Malta.
The Malta College of Arts, Science, and Technology (MCAST) offers Maltese Sign Language Levels 1 and 2 as short courses to MCAST students (availability depends on the number of applicants).
The University of Malta’s Institute of Linguistics and Language Technology offers Maltese Sign Language and Sign Linguistics courses to university students.
The Malta University Consulting Ltd offers introductory short courses in Maltese Sign Language.
Lifelong Learning

The Maltese Sign Language course offered annually by Lifelong Learning is the most popular LSM course in Malta. It is free to participate and runs for one year, with classes held once a week in the evening.
Applications open in July, with the course starting in October and running until May of the following year, aligning with the scholastic year. Students must be 16 years or older to participate.
MCAST
MCAST offers a part-time Maltese Sign Language course for a fee. The course is only offered if a minimum number of students enroll. We recommend contacting the institute directly for more information or to express your interest in attending.

Institute of Linguistics and Language Technology

The Malta University Consulting Ltd offers introductory short courses in Maltese Sign Language, open to the public for a fee. These courses provide students with an introduction to basic vocabulary and grammar, helping them develop a foundational understanding of the language.
